Cascade listed as a Representative Vendor in Gartner Market Guide for IT Asset Disposition (ITAD)

Gartner's Market Guide is an excellent resource for organizations developing their ITAD programs.

Gartner, a leading IT market research firm, issued its Market Guide (2020) for the IT Asset Disposition (ITAD) industry on November 30th. The report provides an overview of important issues for enterprises to consider when developing their ITAD program and selecting a service provider. It also lists a representative sample of a variety of vendors in the ITAD market. Cascade Asset Management is included in the list of 17 ITAD vendors highlighted in the report.

“In a just-released Gartner survey, respondents indicated that technology life cycle management is their top IT asset management (ITAM) priority," notes Gartner, Inc. in its Market Guide for IT Asset Disposition, Rob Schafer and Christopher Dixon, December 1, 2020. "In that context, ITAD service providers are becoming an important link in the overall technology life cycle management of IT equipment."

The Gartner report continues, "ITAD is the last stage and too often becomes an afterthought that carries with it significant risks without a thorough, detailed, end-to-end process that is consistently executed throughout your enterprise."

In addition, the Gartner report specifically mentions the value of proper ITAD. "Moreover, ITAD has become the critical end state in the overall life cycle management of technology equipment. The number and complexity of legislative mandates (often country- or region-specific) for the secure and environmentally friendly disposal of IT equipment continue to grow rapidly. In Europe, examples include the Waste Electrical & Electronic Equipment (WEEE) and General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR); and in the U.S., the California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA). And the consequences of noncompliance are quickly attracting board-level attention."

Cascade offers a number of security and environmental resources and programs to allow our customers to stay compliant and reduce the risk of a loss of brand reputation.

"The three most important tasks to execute correctly, and to which ITAD executives should pay special attention, are transportation logistics/chain of custody, data sanitization and recycling," the Gartner report goes on to say. "These three tasks represent the greatest risk in the ITAD process, and they should be handled by an experienced, wellvetted ITAD service vendor."

Cascade's fully managed ITAD services provide both on-site and offsite data destruction services, a secure chain of custody transportation solution, and recycling to the most stringent standards in the industry. With over 21 years in the industry, Cascade is one of the longest serving, fully-dedicated ITAD processors in the United States.
